Step 1

Fortiskap is Delivered

Patient’s will receive their prescription with an accompanying FortisKap device at the onset of their treatment. This device will be recommended for application by their attending physician depending on the medication being dispensed.

Step 2

Step-by-Step Onboarding

Upon unboxing the Fortiskap

Remove the device from the packaging
Insert pill bottle
Close device around pill bottle
Place finger on scanner to read initial fingerprint
Once the scanner's LED light stops blinking, remove finger
Device is now ready for use

Step 3

Fingerprint Registration

Patients will follow the step-by-step instructions provided above to register themselves as the authorized user. Once the patient has registered themselves as the authorized user, the physician will be notified of the successful onboarding and the device will begin to collect adherence data.

Step 4

Take Medication as Prescribed

Over the course of treatment, the patient will access their medications using the fingerprint scanner and their usage habits will be recorded by FortisKap to develop a comprehensive reporting of adherence-based metrics.

FAQ

What should I do if I cannot access my medication?
Contact Cosmos customer support or your prescribing Physician to attempt a remote unlocking of the device. If the lack of medication will induce a fatal outcome, break the device to access medication.

What should I do if I have a question about my health?
Call your Physician to discuss any questions or concerns you may have concerning your health.

Can someone still break in?
If the FortisKap device is manipulated or altered in malicious ways then it may break under the right amount of stress; however, improper access to medications will be recorded which will help to determine when illicit access occurred.

What should I do, and who do I contact if the device breaks or begins to malfunction?
Contact Cosmos customer support to discuss breakages or malfunctions to the FortisKap device.

Will the device dispense single pills at a time?
The device will not limit access to the amount of pills that individuals can access at one time, but it will record the amount of pills that are removed at each access attempt and provide this information to the attending physician.

Is my private participant and prescription data going to companies outside of my immediate physician network?
Your data will be stored and secured as de identified data which cannot be directly linked to your personal participant profile.

Is the device waterproof?
The device is water resistant. It should however not be kept in humid conditions, and should be immediately dried off if it ever gets wet.

Will I have to pay out-of-pocket to use the FortisKap device?
No. The Fortiskap device is cost neutral to the user.

Will my friends and family members be able to participate in the alerts and reminders on the platform?
Yes! The authorized user can add on anyone to receive the alerts & reminders and be kept in the loop about their medication adherence.
